UFC Rochester: Performance of the Night
Michel Pereira made a massive statement on his debut at UFC Rochester last night after brutally knocking out seasoned Welterweight Danny Roberts just under two minutes into the first round.
Pereira showed his emotion at making his first UFC appearance on the way to the octagon as he burst out into tears. However, the tears didn’t last long and when Pereira got onto the mat he busted out an impromptu breakdance routine giving fans a taste of what was to come.
Pereira became an instant fan favourite with his flashy fighting style, he came out throwing flurries of strikes and landed a massive flying knee on the jaw of Roberts. And once he had smelt blood it didn’t take him long to get Roberts out of there, he landed a perfectly timed one-two combination on the chin of Roberts and raised his hands as he hit the canvas in a Mark Hunt- esque walk off.
This saw Pereira cash in on his first performance of the night bonus and fans are already wondering when we’re going to get a chance to see him in action again. Although Pereira has a record of 23-9 his aggressive style and insane footwork makes him a very exciting fighter watch especially with his use of techniques such as the superman punch and flying knee. And at just 25 years old, he could enjoy a successful future in the in a stacked UFC Welterweight division.
